Pennsylvania’s dairy industry is built on multi-generational businesses, and many of those need to transition in the next 10 years to remain viable. Having outside assistance to navigate the hard and soft issues is often the only way farms can successfully navigate to the next generation. The Center has made this a key priority of our work, offering grant programs, tools and education to help dairy farm families work through the difficult process of creating and carrying a farm succession plan.

How can you get started?

  • Work one on one with a consultant. The Center can help connect you with one of four consultants who have years of experience helping dairy farm families navigate the succession planning process. Click here to view the list of consultants.
  • Build a team to help your family work through the transition process. Transition Team Grants are available on a first-come, first-served basis for 2024-25. Click here for details
