Dairy producers, how can Climate-Smart Grants benefit your operation? In this free webinar on Friday, July 26 at 8 a.m., learn the nuts and bolts of the Climate-Smart Grants that are available through the CARAT Project conducted by The Pennsylvania University and partners. Hear from multiple panelists – including one dairy producer who has recently received the grant – to better understand the program, the benefits of working with a technical service provider to develop climate-smart plans for your operation, and how to apply for funding.

Pennsylvania dairy farms with 35 lactating cows or more or custom dairy heifer facilities with 100 or more dairy heifers that have a 1) Ag E&S or conservation plan and 2) manure management or nutrient management plan in place (two total plans) are eligible to apply for the grants. CARAT stands for climate-smart agriculture that is profitable, regenerative, actionable, and trustworthy (CARAT).

During the webinar, you’ll hear from:

  • Matt Royer, Penn State University
  • Jayne Sebright, Center for Dairy Excellence
  • Peter Hughes, Red Barn Consulting
  • Jeff Trout, Trout Brothers Dairy, Perry County, PA
