Anaerobic digesters are an opportunity to produce biogas on the farm to use for heat, power, or other purposes, and are set to become an increasingly important source of renewable energy. Penn State’s first-ever Digester Day on Wednesday, July 21 will host informational sessions from experts that plan to share:
- The benefits of on-farm digester opportunities for biogas production in the renewable natural gas market
- Potential funding programs
- Incentives
Digester Day will share the experiences of current on-farm digester operators in a roundtable panel discussion. Following lunch, there will be an in-person tour of the newly constructed Penn State digester. The in-person event costs $10 to attend.
Note: Wearing of a mask will be required
This event is co-sponsored by the Center for Dairy Excellence and National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA).
