Based on the latest (May 3, 2021) USDA Crop Progress report, corn planting has ramped up over the last two weeks across Pennsylvania and much of the nation. According to USDA 2020 corn production annual totals, Pennsylvania ranked 16th in the nation in corn acreage planted and bushels of corn harvested. As of the week ending April 25, only 1% of the corn acreage had been planted in Pennsylvania compared to an average 17% for the top 18 corn producing states.
