2025 Dairy Processing Internships
The Dairy Processing Internships are designed to help students gain practical knowledge, information, and skills about progressive dairy processing operations, stretching beyond their past dairy experiences.
Students who are accepted into the internship program will receive $3,000 in addition to dairy processing plant wages.
To qualify for the internship:
- Students: Must be currently enrolled in, or a recent graduate of, a Pennsylvania university or college, or a resident of Pennsylvania who is currently enrolled in, or a recent graduate of an out-of-state university or college.
- Must be majoring in Food Science, Dairy Science, Animal Sciences or related agriculture field or have experience in food agriculture.
- Must be interested in the processing aspect of the dairy industry and/or a learning experience.

- Dairy Processors: Must be a progressive, well-managed, dairy business with a positive outlook on the industry.
- Must be willing to expose the intern to all aspects of a successful, progressive dairy processing including financial information and management team meetings with adequate training and consultation to achieve learning objectives.
- Must be willing to provide information concerning organizational policies and procedures.
- Must be able to pay the intern a standard employee wage in adherence with all federal and state employment requirements. Requested time-off, hours of work, and additional details of the internship will be determined in collaboration with the dairy processor and intern.
- Must be able to provide a safe working environment and conduct a safety overview upon the start of the internship learning experience.
