Mark your calendars, the Pennsylvania Dairy Financial and Risk Management Conference will be held on Tuesday, September 23, from 8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. The event will be held at the Central Penn Conference Center at 600 Valley Road in Summerdale, Pa. This event is a professional development program of the Center for Dairy Excellence, with support from the USDA Risk Management Agency.
Keynote speaker Greg Bethard, Ph.D., will share a look at the US dairy industry’s role in the world marketplace and explain what benchmarks ag lenders should look at on a dairy farm. Dr. Mark Stephenson with the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Dr. Chuck Nicholson with Penn State Smeal College of Business will review the new federal dairy policy and its implications for the industry.
Registration cost for the event is $75 per person, discounted to $50 for representatives of organizations supporting the center’s Allies for Advancement program at a level of $1,000 or higher. Registration is requested by Tuesday, September 9, 2014.
