Save the date: the Penn State Extension Dairy Team will host the Women in Dairy Conference on Tuesday, November 8, at the Sheraton Harrisburg-Hershey Hotel at 4650 Lindle Road in Harrisburg.
The program will take place from 9:00 a.m. – 3:45 p.m. and will feature Jessica Ziehm, Jessica Ziehm is the Executive Director of the New York Animal Agriculture Coalition (NYAAC), a farmer-led organization that supports the New York dairy industry, as well as a dairy farmer and life-long agriculture advocate. Jessica was named among Farm Credit’s Top 100 in Agriculture for her work in agriculture education and community awareness.
Breakout sessions will focus on financials and breakeven costs on the farm, calf and heifer programs, communications styles, farm transitions, social media and the economics of feeding. A pre-conference reception is planned for Tuesday, November 7, from 7 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
The event is hosted by Penn State Extension Dairy Team with support from the Center for Dairy Excellence, AgChoice Farm Credit, American Dairy Association North East, and Dairy Girl Network. Registration information is not available yet, but the Center for Dairy Excellence has provided support to discount registration fees for dairy producers attending the event.
