SPECIAL***VIP Dairy Pairing

An exclusive VIP Dairy Pairing event featuring Pennsylvania award-winning artisan cheeses and Hershey’s Chocolates, as well as Vineyard at Hershey’s wine, beer and cider will begin at 5 p.m. prior to the main event.

Lassa Skinner, co-editor of Culture: the word on cheese magazine, and Jim St. John, senior fellow with Hershey Foods, will guide guests on a journey of texture and flavor, pairing Hershey’s gourmet chocolates and local artisan cheeses from across Pennsylvania with a wine, ale and cider selection from the Vineyard at Hershey.

Thalassa (Lassa) Skinner is co-founder & owner of the general consumer cheese magazine Culture, now in its 9thyear (sold nationwide). She is passionate about spreading the love of cheese across the US and beyond, judging cheese and teaching at venues across the country and overseas as well as partnering with chefs, wineries, breweries and all things food-centric. Always happiest behind a counter, Culture recently launched cheese events under Lassa’s capable hands, both for industry and for cheese lovers.

Jim St.John is Hershey’s Senior Fellow and Master Chocolate Maker. Jim’s responsibilities include leading complex confectionery projects, improving how The Hershey Company approaches research and development work, and helping employees, customers and consumers better understand and enjoy chocolate. Jim joined Hershey in 1988 and has been involved with many of Hershey’s major projects and new product launches. He started as an individual contributor but has held a number of management positions including Senior Manager, Process Research; Director, Food Science and Technology; and most recently, Vice President of Chocolate Product Development and Tech Center Operations.

Skinner and St. John will lead participants in understanding how to properly pair cheese, chocolate and libations during events and celebrations. Specialty cheeses from Calkins Creamery and The Farm at Doe Run as well as Hershey’s fine chocolates will be paired with The Vineyard at Hershey’s fine wine, beer and cider.
